Missions Report From Malawi (2013).

CHURCH ACTIVITIES & GROWTH

To God be the glory for counting us worthy to labour with Him in His vineyard. We pray that we shall always remain faithful to do His will.

By the grace of God, we have set aside the first three days of every month to seek Godโ€™s face for guidance and unction. Attendance varies from 12โ€“18. We gather from 4โ€“5 PM, praying and fasting.

Our Sunday services hold from 9 AM to 12 PM, with attendance between 44โ€“76. Mid-week programmes like the Tuesday Faith Clinic (prayer meeting) have been instrumental for enrichment, growth, and stability. Many have been delivered from bad dreams, oppression, and brokenness, and captives have been set free.

A Workersโ€™ Night of Prayer holds regularly. However, due to serious security challengesโ€”including ritual killings, robbery, and sexual harassmentโ€”we have put general all-night services on hold. The workers resolved to continue meeting in groups for safety, as we are all adults.

We thank the Lord for His wondrous power at work in the Church. The gates of hell shall not prevail. We pray to present to Him at His coming a church blameless, without spot, wrinkle, or blemish. This is our heartโ€™s desire.

EVANGELICAL OUTINGS / CRUSADES

We have embarked on radical evangelical outreaches to villages and towns such as Chazunda, Lomusi, Kwamwendo, Kwari, and Mkwapatira, engaging in house-to-house and street evangelism as needed. Although we met resistance and mockery from some traditionalists and drunkards, Godโ€™s will prevailed, and we reached people in love. We ministered to the Chief of Mkwapatira village, who gave his life to the Lord. A total of 122 souls were won and are being encouraged to remain steadfast in the faith.

BALAKATA CRUSADE

A three-day crusade was held in Balakata village (about 30 km from Blantyre) from August 31st to September 2nd, 2012. Attendance ranged from 42โ€“72. We arrived on August 30th, sensitizing the village house-to-house. The theme was โ€œChrist in You, the Hope of Glory.โ€ We held three sessions daily, surrendering our lusts and pleasures to the glory of His name. Fifteen souls were won for the Lord in this crusade.

YOUTH CONFERENCE

Our annual youth conference, themed โ€œOpen Heavens,โ€ was held from August 31st to September 2nd. On the first day, Bro. Chimwemwe Banya was so overcome by the Holy Spirit during service that he could not walk; we finally carried him home. The second day featured many activities, including food competitions and a Bible quiz. Transport was provided to bring people from all walks of life; over 70 were present. Pastor Ernest shared the word, and 30 souls came to the Lord during the altar call. On the final day, Sis. Esther Banda ministered, and the Holy Spirit moved powerfullyโ€”people wept, spoke in tongues, and Godโ€™s presence was evident. Truly, we enjoyed open heavens.

MENโ€™S CONFERENCE

The Menโ€™s Conference was held from September 28thโ€“30th. Pastor Kayira ministered on Friday to 15 people. On Saturday the 29th, we preached house-to-house in Manyowe and won 5 souls. On Sunday the 30th, Pastor Nwandav ministered on the theme โ€œGivingโ€ to 45 people.

WEEKLY VISITATION / PROGRAMMES

Every Sunday after service, we organize into two groups to visit and encourage absent members, pray with them, and share the Word with others in the compounds. This strategy has won 4 souls during this reporting period.

Every Thursday from 5:00โ€“5:30 PM, we hold home cell fellowship, rotating among membersโ€™ houses. Attendance from other denominations has risen to 27 adults. We thank the Lord for this initiative, which draws more souls to Christ.

SPECIAL OUTREACHES

Hospital Evangelism:
Evangelism at Queens Hospital was halted briefly due to financial challenges. Thanks to help from our International Headquarters in Nigeria, we have fully resumed. Patients in the TB, Accident, and General wards were overjoyed to see us again. We preached Jesus and gave gifts like fruit juice, sugar, bread, and soap. Our efforts were rewarded with 17 souls giving their lives to Christ. The staff appreciated our gestures, though none have yet come to Jesus. We are not discouraged, believing the seed will germinate in time.

Zomba Prisons:
We visited Zomba Prison in the first week of October and were warmly received due to our long absence. We shared encouragement from Luke 1:37โ€”that with God, all things are possible. When the altar call was made, 27 inmates declared for Jesus. We believe more souls will be won as we continue visiting now that funds are available.

MINISTERSโ€™ RETREAT

A ministersโ€™ retreat was held on October 26th to discuss the way forward. We addressed challenges in the Nsanje church and urged ministers to work and walk in unity and love. It was a refreshing time, and broken relationships were mended to the glory of God.

CHALLENGES

Some challenges we face in these villages include polygamy, witchcraft, and syncretism. Polygamy is common even among Christians and church leaders.
